From Electrical to Mechanical?

I have this old clock, like the classic alarm clock with two bells on the top? I like building things and playing around with gears, so I was wondering if anyone else could help me turn this battery operated clock into a mechanical wind up one. I can buy the clock parts I need, but any suggestions as to where would also be nice. Thanks!

The energy to move the hands of the clock is supplied by a battery in an electric clock vs. by a wound up spring in a mechanical clock. You can look for a old clock in a junk yard or a swap meet and figure out what kind of spring you need and how it is attached. May be the spring in the old clock will be still in good shape for you to try it out.

And the tinny pernickety ring
Of an asthmatic alarm clock
Grates me: breaks my dreams in two;
"Time's up!" chimes the thin-voiced minion,
And the bus-bell's ting ting heralds journey's end,
And the school bell's bossy clangour
Turns our flying thoughts to stone.

Oh no, bells, you remind me too well
Of the end of things for me to follow you.

I like the way you took the inner ear hearing of the bells to the outer world, and then show the meaning of the bells.

Did you know that some societies recognize ones hearing bells to be related to Guardians/Guides and death before you wrote your poem?

Occasionally, I hear tinkling bells, but none that you describe, now, however, I wonder.
