How do you get dogs not to pee in a specific area where they always go?

Ohkay, I have a 1 year old papillon named Oliver. We walk him 3-4 times a day but he is mostly going to the bathroom in my house. he has specific areas like the bathroom rug or the front door mat. We lysol, and clean these areas thoroughly but he still goes in those areas. Is there some sort of cleaner/wipe that gets there pee/poop scent off these things ? Thanks for the help.

Well, I know that with cats, what you have to do is allot an specific area that they CAN go. You bring them over to that area and sit them down in it. If they get up and walk away, bring them back and put them there. I think that eventually they get the general idea. At least, that's how it works with kittens. You may want to try that with your dog. Also, animals tend to go if the scent is there--so do your best to eliminate that scent. Pet odor elminating powders tend to smell pretty strong, so you may want to try that.
