The Beauty of Marble Tile Flooring

In the times of the Romans and Greeks, marble tiles have been extensively used to construct some of their beautiful structures such as their palaces and courtyards. Using marble tiles for your floor is one of the best ways to create an aesthetic look to it, making your floor appear very natural and decorative. Marble is known as the best choice of art in architecture due to its certain features that makes it a very unique material. Some of these marble tiles are actually processed to have a look called as tumbled marble, which actually gives the marble tile an antique and well-worn finish. This type of marble tile can be used to accent other types of tile, and is very flexible in terms of application and function since it comes in a variety of shapes, colors, sizes and designs.

The patterns and designs found in the marble appear as detailed, vein-like virulets which are never the same on two marble tiles. Each design or pattern differ and vary from tile to tile. Each marble tile can also be used as subtle shading within an interior due to its muted, earthy appeal, which is great for decorative purposes. Also, marble tiles comes in a variety of colors, such as vibrant red, green, and other colors, all of which can be used to serve as bold accents to a room.

Another aspect of marble tiles that makes it so appealing to use as flooring is its characteristic of being hypoallergenic, which is probably why it was used for flooring in hospitals back in the day, before porcelain tiles became the more popular choice.

Marble tiles is very conducive for keeping particular areas clean and free of allergens and pathogens, due to its characteristic of being able to keep microscopic particles from finding purchase on its surface. The marble tiles make it difficult for microscopic germs to survive in it, which is why it is very easy to clean. All you need is a clean cloth and solution, and your marble will look as good as new.

Marble tile flooring also provides a cool walking surface, especially for those parts of the house that are hot and humid, since marble tiles are able to retain the cold temperature of its surroundings. Also, marble tiles do not need as much cleaning since it, for one, is resistant to any moisture, and it also shines naturally, which is why you do not need to wax it every so often.

how much would this art project cost? $?

I want to make mosaic photo frames for my family and friends.
I need 4x6 frames.
I need eight wooden frames,mosaic tiles (like marbles,small square tiles) nothing big.
I might use hot glue, but if you think it is not a good use tell me what kind of adhesive i need? like mastic.

Where can i buy these, and preferably cheap but good quality.

Try looking at your local craft store. Michael's is a great place to get started. The price is really going to depend on which tiles or marbles you use.

Hot glue would work to attach the tiles/marbles to the frames but I would suggest using a tile filler afterwards for a nice clean look. You can normally find the filler in a sorts of colors too (which I think is really cool).

Another idea is buying the frames already made. I have a little online shop on Etsy. Etsy's a handmade- hand created- vintage and supply online site. In a way it works like Ebay- though with Etsy there's no bidding. The items prices are clearly stated along with shipping. Though if you want you can request an item by a seller and they will work with you to make just what you want.
