im making a raft boat and sailing it down the mississippi river from minnesota down to mexico. what is your estimate on how long it will take?

i am not the first person to try this, and neither is he. it has been done before.
First, listen to retiredroadie. The Mississippi River is 2400+miles long, so depending on your starting point you'd be looking at 1800 plus miles. This has been done before and those rafters took 6 months or more. It's been several years now since the last one made it. I'd like to hear your plans and what preparations you've made. Have you resolved dealing with the various regulations for navigation your boat. If you are serious, as you say, you need to do a lot more than "build a raft". Good Luck!

But there had been plenty of thrills, too: fireworks over the Tall Ships in Halifax Harbour; careening down the East River at ten knots with Manhattan whizzing past to starboard; feasting on hush puppies and grits with chicken gravy in Georgia; enjoying the ancient streets of St. Augustine, and the dazzling opulence of Fort Lauderdale.
