Bones Skeleton Fishing

i have 5 fish , and one died,or disappeared?

well i have 1 koi fish , 1 shubunkin , 3 golfdish , and I have a filtered aquarium with a light on the top , and i my fish disappeared with no bone or skeleton , did they eat one of my goldfish? Because i only have 4 left. or Maybe its because i haven't fed them for 2 days and they ate the smallest one(the goldfish) ? THANKYOU

Fish bodies decompose very quickly. It could take only a matter of days. I do hope that you have all those fish in at least a 200 gallon tank. That koi will get over a foot long. The shubunkin will get at least 6 inches and depending on what type of goldfish you have, they will be between 6 inches and 1 foot.

Also, goldfish produce a lot of waste. They will easily pollute the tank unless weekly water changes are done. With so many fish in one tank that produce a lot of waste, it is very likely that one died and decomposed within a matter of days.

i am having a disagreement with my cousin and am wondering what you think. can fish bones like the skeleton of a fish float? i think they can but he says they cant.

I fish in the ocean, and it's common to toss the carcasses of fish over the side after cleaning. In general, they sink. Bones, guts, and skin are all heavier than water, so they will sink. They might sink slowly, but they will sink.

However, if you catch a fish off the bottom deep water, its swim bladder expands when you bring it to the surface so the whole fish will float. If the fish is then filleted (the meat on the sides cut off) without puncturing the bladder, the remains of the fish will float, and it will look like the bones are floating. I have seen this happen.
