purple room, white crown molding, dark brown wood furniture, what colors should the frames and shelves be ?

I have a purple room, not to dark not to light. I have dark brown furniture and white crown molding. My door and closet doors are also white. What color should my frames and floating shelves be?

Also the metal look looks good in dark purple I don't know about the purple i have. So i have decided to put all the responses together and put white shelves with the silver frames and mirrors. Change your doors knobs to the metal color and the light switches and vent covers. Add a lamp in the same glass and metal.

ideas for decorating bedroom?

Thinking about decorating my bedroom. I want cream wall paper, but someone said its quite modern to have one wall a differnt color, like maybe a dark brown or mocha brown. would that be nice or would it look weird? i will be getting a new bed and its going to be one of those faux dark brown leather ones with a leather headboard like in a hotel lol. my carpet is cream.i dont have one clear wall, as in one i have a window, the other a main window, the other the door, and the other has a fitted wardrobe on it. so would the feature wall work? Also was thinking could you have a "floating desk"? like a floating shelf but to put my tv, dvd player, digital on will it hold the weight? i just want a modern room! theres so much clutter. i want simplicity. What surface would be good? really i only need one set of drawers. any designers or decoraters that could give me some advice? thanks very much!! x

I think your ideas sound great, too. Except for maybe the one different wall color. Unless your bedroom is really huge, it would make the space feel more choppy than modern. And it will totally kill your desire for simplicity. While I don't think it's a bad idea in general, I do think it's a bad idea for a bedroom. And if you don't have one clear wall to paint the darker color, you would lose the effect anyway. Personally, I think your dark brown leather headboard will be enough of a contrast. I also think you should consider adding a little softer texture to the room by doing your bedding in something silky, and maybe adding a faux fur throw to the edge of the bed or tossed over a chair. This will keep the space looking modern, but not cold and uninviting. Sounds like you've got some grand plans, otherwise!! Hope this helps and good luck!!

PS - As far as your tv,dvd issue, try putting it in an entertainment armoire, as opposed to setting it up on a shelf. This will also cut down on the cluttered look, leave you plenty of storage space for the rest of your stuff, and keep the room looking streamlined and modern.
