How to repair a polyresin figurine?
One of my polyresin figurines (a decorative oil burner) has developed a crack near the base of the figurine. It's a fairly long crack, its about half a centimeter in width in places so you can see the hollow interior. I noticed it for the first time today while I was dusting it. The crack has affected the integrity of the figurine in that the part of the statue with it can not support the bowl as it should. Normally I would just buy a new one, but as this is a limited edition figurine, it will be hard to replace; I am looking for a way to repair it. Can any one offer some suggestions that would work?
It is actually missing a peice
Is it actually missing a piece of the figurine, or can you squeeze the sides together where the crack is? If you can, or if you have the missing piece, you could probably seal it with a clear epoxy. Your local hardware store should have it. If it is completely missing part of it, that's a little more complicated to fix. Some crafting stores offer various types of resin, but it would be hard to match the exact color of the figurine for the repair. I don't really have any experience in that field.
