Can someone help me find this book that I read a few years ago?!?

I read a book a few years, and I can't for the life of me remember what it's called! So here's what I can remember about it:
It's about a girl who attends art classes and meets a guy there. She's taken up a project to paint a mural on a building wall and puts her heart and soul into it, while struggling to come up with the paint etc. The guy she meets is mixed up with the wrong group and later in the story, he is murdered by the gang, so she puts all she's got into the mural and it ends up costing her her life. The mural is of a ball that features her boyfriend, an old man, a woman and a child along with other people. The wall/building is also then destroyed.
I also remember something in it about a baseball cap that has angel wings on it, causing her boyfriend to panic. I also remember the book/author/publishers had something to do with "zodiac"...
If anyone can help me with this, I would be so grateful as it was one of my favourite books!

The novel's title is Frozen in Time, it's part of a series called Zodiac. The author is Jahnna N. Malcolm.
